Ride + Stride is a sponsored bike ride around Milton Keynes that raises money for Buckingham Historic Churches Trust. Half the money raised by us comes back to our church directly. In 2024/2025 Milton Keynes did very well out of the trust. So, what are we doing to support it?
Milton Keynes has one of the longest possible Ride + Stride routes at 26 miles, with an expected 5 hour duration. So we intend to add a 14-mile cycle route instead. The route would begin at All Saints, take in Broughton, Willen, Woolstone, Woughton on the Green, Simpson, Christ the King, and St Mary’s, Wavendon, and finish back at All Saints.
For walkers, we are suggesting All Saints, St Lawrence, Willen, Woolstone and back. Basically round Willen Lake. This is also expected to take five hours as there are four churches and six pubs on the way. Any non-motorised travel is invited, including horse, bike, Shank’s Pony and mobility scooters.
You can also choose your own walking or cycling route around local churches if you prefer.
The date for your diary is Saturday 12th September. You’ve got nearly one month to get fit and find some sponsors. Please, sign up on the sheet near the font.
If you don’t fancy riding or striding round the churches, you can still support the event by:
1) Sponsoring one of the cyclists or walkers
2) Volunteering to fill one of the slots at church and provide cold drinks
