Church Restoration Update

The stonemasons have finished repairing the pinnacle at the North East corner of the church and the decorative stonework on the plain window in the chancel. They have also repaired some stonework on the tower parapet and repaired the plaster of the nave and vestry ceilings as well as replacing some missing roof tiles.

This means that all of the high priority works identified at the last Architect’s inspection are complete, using up all of our available funds. The lower priority repair and maintenance work (approximately £20,000) will be completed as funds allow and we hope to seek grant funding to match anything we raise to cover some of this.

The damage to the south wall of the churchyard is expected to be repaired this week.
